Prestigious presence of the YCI at the 2025 edition of Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez, where our Director and Member Andy Bianchedi fielded two iconic boats:
KZ5 – 12 m SI – 2nd place in the 12 Metre Class,
Dan – 6 m SI – 2nd place among the Classics.
Excellent results also for other YCI Members:
Capricorno, owned by Alessandro Del Bono – 2nd in Maxi 1
Arya, owned by Giovanni Laviosa – 3rd in IRC 1
Also worth mentioning, Giulio Desiderato aboard Django 7X, 1st in Maxi Grand Prix.
The week saw variable conditions, with light breezes at the start and fresher winds in the afternoons, although racing could not take place on the final day despite good conditions. As highlighted by Andy Bianchedi:
“The coastal courses did not fully enhance the characteristics of our boats, which are better suited to windward-leeward courses, but the double second place confirms the competitiveness and preparation of our crews.”
An excellent debut for the “new” 12 Metre, which will represent the Club’s colours at the next 12 Metre World Championship to be held in Italy in 2026.
