A major international success for our Club Member Matteo Iachino, who claimed victory in the Foil Slalom at the Citroën Windsurf World Cup Sylt, a leg of the PWA World Tour held on the island of Sylt, Germany.
At the end of the competition, Iachino stood on the top step of the podium ahead of Germany’s Fabian Wolf and Amado Vrieswijk, once again confirming his place among the world’s leading windsurfers.
The victory is even more significant given Matteo’s special connection with Sylt: this marks his fourth career win at the prestigious German event, following his previous victories in 2015, 2016 and 2018.
This outstanding result further enhances Matteo’s international record and confirms his position at the top of the PWA World Tour.
The next event will take place in Japan at the end of the month, with the final stop of the season set to play a decisive role in determining the 2026 Slalom Foil World Champion.
It will therefore be another exciting challenge to follow closely, as we also look ahead to next year, when we will host a leg of the PWA World Challenger in Genoa, bringing the sport’s leading international athletes to our home waters.
