For the first time, Genoa will host a leg of the PWA World Challenger, bringing some of the world’s best riders to the waters of Liguria. Five days of Slalom Foil racing will take place off Voltri, one of the best-known spots along the Genoese coast for its wind conditions, particularly the strong Tramontana that characterises the area. An ideal racecourse for Slalom Foil, where speed and technical skill will combine to deliver a unique spectacle.
The event will be organised in collaboration with Tramontana Voltri Surf, an organisation deeply rooted in the history of windsurfing in Genoa and committed to promoting Voltri as a leading windsurfing venue.
A PWA event in Italy is a particularly significant fixture on the international windsurfing scene. Throughout the history of the circuit, Italy has hosted PWA events on only a handful of occasions. The Genoa World Challenger therefore marks the return of top-level international windsurfing to Italy, with one of Liguria’s most iconic spots providing the stage for the competition.
