The Regate di Primavera set sail: four days of racing in the Gulf of Tigullio

The Regate di Primavera Portofino confirm their status as one of the most anticipated events in the Mediterranean sailing calendar. Organized by the Yacht Club Italiano with the support of partners Belmond and Banca Passadore, the event is reserved for yachts over 50 feet and attracts some of the most prestigious international shipyards.
The stunning setting of the Gulf of Tigullio provides the backdrop, where the Yacht Club Italiano has been organizing regattas since the late 19th century and has established its summer headquarters since 1965. Yachts will be hosted between Portofino, Rapallo, and Santa Margherita Ligure, ready to compete in buoy races and spectacular coastal courses, complemented by a rich social programme.
The Fleet
In the largest Open class, leading the fleet are several large yachts, including ARCA SGR owned by Furio Benussi, the 100-footer among the key players on the international sailing scene, BARONG II, the Mylius 76 of Alessio Paladini, and GG, the Solaris 74 RS of Niccolò Maisto. In the IRC class, among the expected frontrunners are the Maxi 79 NICE owned by Marco Malgara, the Mylius 66 RS SCHORCH of German owner Alois Neukirchen, and ITACENTODUE, the Felci 61 of Adriano Calvini.
As per tradition, crews will compete for the YCI Challenge Trophy, awarded to the overall winner across the IRC and Open classes.

Organization
The Regate di Primavera Portofino are organized by Yacht Club Italiano and FIV, in collaboration with the Municipalities of Portofino, Santa Margherita Ligure, and Rapallo, together with Portofino Yacht Marina, Progetto Santa Margherita Ligure, and Porto Carlo Riva in Rapallo, under the patronage of Regione Liguria.
Main Partners of the Regate di Primavera Portofino are Splendido Mare, A Belmond Hotel, and Banca Passadore, once again highlighting their strong connection with the village and the world of sailing.
Technical Partners B&G and North Sails will provide technical support to competitors, GT Motor will offer a courtesy car service with Lexus, and Portofino Dry Gin returns as the Official Gin Supplier.
