REGATE DI PRIMAVERA PORTOFINO 2026
Final day with sirocco in the Gulf of Tigullio: ARCA SGR and Mistral Gagnant win the Regate di Primavera 2026
Portofino, 3 May 2026
The 2026 edition of the Regate di Primavera in the Gulf of Tigullio concluded today. A light sirocco accompanied the fleet along a coastal course of approximately 8 miles, in conditions different from the previous days.
The Race Committee waited for the breeze to fill in before starting at 11:30. After a general recall, the fleet headed offshore towards marks positioned to the South/South-West, before returning into the Gulf of Tigullio and crossing the finish line at the end of the course.
In the Open class, the winner of the Regate di Primavera Portofino is ARCA SGR, the 100-footer helmed by 18-year-old Marta Benussi, daughter of Furio Benussi, who takes first place ahead of MOONSHINE, the Frers 60’ of Stefano Brunello, and ITACENTODUE, the Felci 61 of Adriano Calvini.
In the IRC class, the winner of the Regate di Primavera Portofino is MISTRAL GAGNANT, the Solaris 50 of Marco Ferrero, followed by TWIN SOUL B, the Mylius 80 of Luciano Gandini, while NICE, the Maxi 79 of Marco Malgara, places third.
The first-place finisher in the IRC class also wins the Comune di Portofino Trophy and the special B&G prize.
In the special classification dedicated to yachts built by the Mylius shipyard, the Mylius Cup 2026 is awarded to SCHORCH, owned by German owner Alois Neukirchen, followed by WHISPER, owned by Cypriot Meier Barak, and JECALU, owned by Antonio Romeo.
The prize-giving ceremony took place at 16:00 on Molo Umberto I in Portofino, opened by the President of the Yacht Club Italiano, Carlo Cameli, who thanked partners, shipyards, and above all owners and crews, the protagonists of three days that brought the Gulf of Tigullio to life.
“It concludes an edition of the Regate di Primavera that gifted us three wonderful days in the Gulf of Tigullio, with particularly favourable conditions. It is always a great satisfaction to see such a high-level fleet racing in a unique setting. Portofino and the Tigullio, as always, offered exceptional hospitality both on the water and ashore. I would like to thank all the owners, crews, partners, and everyone involved in organizing this event, and I look forward to seeing you at the next edition,” said Carlo Cameli, President of the Yacht Club Italiano.
