The second event of the Melges 24 European Sailing Series season concluded in Trieste, hosted by the Yacht Club Adriaco on the same racecourse that welcomed the Class World Championship last September.
After seven races completed over the first two days, overall victory went to Nicolò Bertola aboard Taki 4, author of an extremely consistent series capped by three consecutive wins on the final day. Also on board Taki 4 was our Racing Director Pietro Seghezza.
Second overall was Melgina, helmed by our Member Paolo Brescia, who also claimed victory in the Corinthian division ahead of the reigning World Champions of Zhik Race Team. Sailing aboard Melgina were also our Member Filippo Vulcanile and the very young Member Carolina Vulcanile, making her debut in the Melges 24 class.
The regatta also counted towards the historic Coppa Tito Nordio, one of the Yacht Club Adriaco’s most prestigious trophies, which now passes from Paolo Brescia to Nicolò Bertola, while remaining in the hands of Ligurian crews.
