March was a month to remember at the Yacht Club Italiano, with three standout events for sailing and technology lovers.
On March 21st, maritime technology took center stage with the presentation of the HSV foiling catamaran, a true jewel of engineering powered by hydrogen, built by San Giorgio Marine for Bluegame. Club guests had the opportunity to get an in-depth look at the boat during a visit to the San Giorgio Marine shipyard, where HSV was showcased in all its complexity. The day concluded with a talk show moderated by renowned journalist Maurizio Bulleri, where the project’s key players explained the characteristics and potential of this groundbreaking vessel.
On March 26th, it was the turn of Enrico Zennaro, a great sailing champion, who shared his experiences and insights with the Club’s members and guests. Zennaro recounted the challenges faced in top international regattas and offered a deep dive into onboard electronics, with a special focus on B&G technology. Attendees had the chance to listen to his success stories, tactical choices, and reflections on the importance of precision and the reliability of instruments during races.
Finally, on March 28th, the Club hosted a moment of pure spectacle with the screening of the docufilm “A Voyage of Discovery: The Ocean Race”. Guests relived the excitement of the regatta’s final leg through footage produced by Warner Bros. The story was enriched by the testimony of winner Francesca Clapcich, who allowed the audience to immerse themselves in the adventure of one of the world’s most iconic races. Journalist Fabio Pozzo moderated the event, offering insights into the making of the docufilm and the experiences of the competitors.
