We are pleased to share with you the 2026 sports calendar — a season that promises to be one of the richest and most extensive in the Mediterranean. From January to mid-November, the Club will be at the forefront with over eleven months of sailing, ranging from youth classes to one-designs, from Olympic classes to large offshore yachts.

A growing season: eleven months of sailing

The 2026 season will open with the winter appointments of the International Genoa Winter Contest, dedicated to the Optimist, ILCA 7, ILCA 6 and ILCA 4 classes, followed by the Inter-Zone Optimist Selection, returning to Liguria after three years.

Next, the calendar enters its most vibrant phase with some of the Club’s most representative sporting events:
  • Genoa Sailing Week – Andrea Alberti Cup (March 27–29)
  •  Porto Carlo Riva Trophy (April 11–12)
  •  The Gentleman Challenge (April 17–19)
  •  Regate di Primavera Portofino (April 30–May 3)
  •  Gallinara Race – Cappelletta Trophy (May 16–17)
  •  SIAD Bombola d’Oro Trophy – Roberto Sestini Cup (May 22–24)

Loro Piana Giraglia: the heart of the season

From June 12 to 20, the Loro Piana Giraglia returns — the great offshore classic that blends sport, history and tradition, drawing to Saint-Tropez and Genoa one of the largest and most competitive fleets of the international IRC and ORC calendar.

Summer and autumn: one-designs, sailing for all and tradition

Summer continues with the J/70 Members Cup – Summer Edition (July 4–5) in the waters of Portofino, while September brings back the Millevele IREN (September 12), the major open regatta that each year kicks off the most important month for Genoese yachting.
Autumn is centered around three established events:
  •  LOWRANCE Trophy – Fishing Tournament (October 10–11)
  •  62nd Coppa Poggi (October 24–25)
  •  J/70 Members Cup (November 7–8)

The value of partnerships

The YCI’s sports program is made possible thanks to the contribution of partners, institutions and organizations that share our values, vision and passion.
In particular, we would like to thank:
  •  Rolex, Official Timepiece of the Italian Yacht Club
  •  Institutional sponsors: SIAD and Banca Passadore
  •  Technical partners: Navico Group, North Sails, SLAM
  •  Title Partners: Loro Piana and IREN
  •  Regione Liguria, the Municipality of Genoa, Confindustria Nautica.

We are delighted to embark on a season with you that continues to grow in quality, participation and international relevance.
We look forward to seeing you on the docks and at sea, confident that 2026 will embody the spirit and values of our Club at their best.

Fair winds!
