A great result for Yacht Club Italiano, celebrating the splendid victory of its Optimist team at the Monaco Optimist Team Race, one of the most prestigious youth team racing competitions at international level.
The team coached by Mattia Bellico dominated the event with a flawless record, winning 11 out of 11 races. A result that highlights not only the athletes’ high technical level, but also their ability to master a complex and highly formative discipline such as team racing.
The protagonists of this success were Vittorio Cavalleroni, Gabriele Burlando, Leonardo Orlandini and Sebastiano Baldassarre, who showed great cohesion, tactical awareness and team spirit, making the difference at key moments of the regattas.
The team racing format, which favours collective play, communication and strategy over individual performance, was interpreted in exemplary fashion by our young sailors, who prevailed over 15 high-level teams from 12 nations.
A prestigious success that confirms the quality of the Club’s youth programme and represents an important milestone in the sporting development of our athletes.
