An important success for our member Giorgio Anserini, co-owner together with Leonardo Petti of the J/109 Chestress 1, winner of La Lunga Bolina, one of the most technical and fascinating offshore races on the national calendar.
The fleet set off in good thermal breeze conditions in the starting area, tackling the first part of the course with a long upwind leg to the north, which immediately put crews and boats to the test.
The second part of the race proved significantly more complex, marked by major variations in wind direction and intensity, often influenced by coastal headlands and the wind shadows created by the islands of the archipelago.
The passage at Isola del Giglio represented the first real critical point of the race, with a noticeable drop in pressure that made the competition even more tactically demanding.
In this context, Chestress was able to interpret the racecourse conditions to perfection, prevailing thanks to effective strategic choices and consistently solid sailing, securing a victory of great value.
