From 22 to 29 October Genoa and the Yacht Club Italiano will host the European Championship of the Melges 24 Class, one of the longest-running racing monotypes born in 1992 from the American duo Reichel/Pugh Yacht Design and still a very popular class today and appreciated all over the world.
The European Championship starts on Saturday 22 October with 2 days dedicated to Check-in, Registration and Measurement and Crew Weigh-in. Practice race Monday 24 on the eve of the official start of the regattas from Tuesday 25 to Saturday 29, the final day where the European Champion of the Class will be crowned.
For the assignment of the Title, 10 races are scheduled and up to 3 races may be run each day.
Unfortunately, in the period following the Imperia regatta, the Yacht Club Italiano is busy with an event of more than 200 offshore boats and spaces occupied by tents and events, as in the same days there is the International Genoa Boat Show.
To give the opportunity to leave the boats in Genoa and its surroundings, we have contacted a large shipyard near the Genoa Airport (near the motorway exit and very convenient position).
It is an external reality. So contacts, payments, etc. they must be done directly with the yard.
