We are delighted to announce that entries for the 73rd edition of the Loro Piana Giraglia are officially open.
The Notice of Race and online entry form are available on the event website: loropianagiraglia.com

With the new year, the Loro Piana Giraglia rounds the 73rd mark, further strengthening the partnership between the Yacht Club Italiano and title partner Loro Piana, which began in 2024. The event will take place in Saint-Tropez and Genoa from 12 to 20 June: four days of inshore racing in the stunning Gulf of Saint-Tropez, followed by the finish in Genoa after the 241-nautical-mile offshore race.

The programme:
  • 11 June: opening of the race village and registrations;
  • 12 June: arrivals and registrations;
  • 13–16 June: racing in Saint-Tropez;
  • 17 June: start of the offshore race;
  • 20 June: prize-giving ceremony in Genoa at the Yacht Club Italiano.

Eligible yachts
The Loro Piana Giraglia 2026 is open to all monohulls over 9.14 metres in length racing in the ORC and IRC classes. As always, a very diverse fleet of racing yachts from all over the world is expected, including a significant number of maxi yachts aiming for line honours in the offshore race and for the extremely challenging record of 14 hours and 56 minutes, which has stood since 2012.

The race village, the Giraglia meeting point
Great attention has been devoted to the organisation and rationalisation of the race village, the true beating heart of the activities in France, which embarked on an important renewal process last year. For 2026, the lounge area in the race office will be permanently open, designed to offer the best possible welcome to competitors. Along the outer breakwater, as far as the Tour de Portalet, the crew village will take shape and, each evening, will become the centre of the social life of the Loro Piana Giraglia 2026, with daily prize-givings and convivial moments dedicated to all the sailors taking part in the new edition of the race.

The organisation
The Giraglia was conceived in 1953 as a 241-nautical-mile offshore race. In 2023, this classic event celebrated its 70th anniversary. The Loro Piana Giraglia is organised by the Yacht Club Italiano in collaboration with the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez, under the patronage of the Yacht Club de France, Yacht Club Sanremo and Yacht Club de Monaco, the Union Nationale pour la Course au Large (UNCL), the International Maxi Association (IMA), the City of Saint-Tropez, the City of Genoa and the Liguria Region.
The Giraglia Race is a qualifying event for the IRC-UNCL Mediterranean Championship and is part of the 2026 IMA Mediterranean Maxi Offshore Challenge.

Loro Piana has been the title partner of the Loro Piana Giraglia since 2024.
