Vele d'Epoca di Imperia

The colors of the Yacht Club Italiano were once again among the protagonists at the 27th edition of Le Vele d’Epoca di Imperia, held from September 2 to 5 and featuring more than 50 yachts, in the year marking the event’s 40th anniversary since its inception in 1986.

Following her success in last year’s edition, Aria, the 1935 International Eight Metre owned by Serena Galvani and flying the Yacht Club Italiano Heritage Burgee, secured second place in the Epoca Marconi 2 class after four races. Completing the podium in the same class, in third place, was Zeist, owned by our Director of Culture and Library, Francesco Foppiano. Victory went to the Portuguese Q-Class yacht Falcon, formerly Jour de Fête, built in 1930.

Another important result came in the Cruiser class, where Crivizza, owned by our member Gigi Rolandi, finished in second place.

Three podium finishes for yachts associated with our Club in one of the Mediterranean’s premier events dedicated to classic and vintage sailing.
