An important result for Yacht Club Italiano members at the ROLEX TP52 World Championship, held in Porto Cervo.
Francesco Bruni claimed the TP52 World Championship title as tactician aboard Sled, owned by Japanese skipper Takashi Okura. At the end of an intensely competitive week, marked by light winds and a world-class fleet of 15 teams representing 11 nations, Sled secured the world title thanks to a composed and flawless performance in the final race.
For the American team, this marks its second TP52 World Championship title, a third consecutive victory in Porto Cervo, and a third straight triumph in the 52 SUPER SERIES circuit.
Finishing runner-up was Trinity Racing, owned by Sweden's Joakim Sundberg. Among the crew, Yacht Club Italiano member Giulio Desiderato served as mainsail trimmer, playing a key role in an outstanding campaign that earned the team second place overall in the World Championship standings. Sundberg also received the award for Best Owner-Driver of the event.
The championship once again showcased Yacht Club Italiano members competing at the highest level of international professional sailing, making decisive contributions to the success of their respective teams.
