This past weekend saw the conclusion of the Genova Sailing Week – 71st Coppa Andrea Alberti, which offered participants three शानदार days of racing in the Gulf of Genoa. Favorable weather conditions allowed the Race Committee to complete six races for all classes, enabling the 40 registered crews to carry out a full and technically sound racing program.
The regattas took place in well-defined weather conditions, with two days characterized by the classic Genoese tramontana wind and one day with a south-westerly breeze consistently exceeding 12 knots.
At the end of the event, the traditional prize-giving ceremony was held in the Clubhouse, in keeping with the long-standing tradition of the regatta. During the ceremony, President Carlo Cameli reminded all participants of the long history of the Coppa Andrea Alberti, which has now reached its 71st edition.
As for the results, in the J80 one-design class, first place went to Joke by Nicola Odone, followed by Cico J by Claudio Cicconetti in second place, and Jayrose by Bertani, Agrossi and Spada in third.
In the J70 class, victory went to CAIM – Jeniale Team by Massimo Rama, which also claimed the Coppa Alessio Roccatagliata, established in memory of our member who tragically passed away and awarded to the winner of the largest one-design class. Second place went to ITA4 by Piero Cardone, with Air Force One by Carlo Cameli finishing third.
In the ORC 2 group, first place was secured by Robe de Matt by Luigi Buzzi, followed by Melagodo by Luca De Luca, with First…issima by Fabio Montale in third.
In the ORC 1 group, the winner—as well as Alto Tirreno and Ligurian National Champion and overall winner of the 71st Coppa Andrea Alberti (awarded to the top-ranked boat in the largest group)—was Lisa R by Giovanni Di Vincenzo. Second place went to Arkas Blue Moon by Bernard Arkas, with WB IX by Pietro Bianchi in third.
Among Club members, notable results include Joke by Nicola Odone, winner of the J80 class; Air Force One by our President Carlo Cameli, third in the J70 class; and First…issima by Fabio Montale, third in ORC 2. Several other boats owned by our members also featured in the rankings, confirming the strong presence of Club members at the event.
The Genova Sailing Week – Coppa Andrea Alberti once again proves to be a key event in the sailing calendar and in Genoese sporting tradition, successfully combining history, sport, and passion for sailing, and attracting owners and crews to the waters of the Gulf of Genoa each year.
The next edition is now eagerly awaited, continuing a tradition that for over seventy years has represented a benchmark for sailing in Genoa.
