For the first time, Yacht Club Italiano hosted the 4th Bertram Owners Rendezvous at its clubhouse. The event was organised by the Powerboating Section of the Italian Naval League of Lerici and brought together owners of the iconic American-built Bertram motor yachts.
The gathering welcomed 25 Bertram boats and more than 100 participants, confirming its status as one of the leading events for Bertram owners in Italy.
Among the highlights of the event were the awards presented to Portofino—a 1962 Bertram 31 owned by Banca Passadore—which was recognised as the oldest boat in attendance; Giorgia, honoured for completing the 170-nautical-mile passage from Argentario to Genoa; and Pietro Orizio, owner of the Bertram 33 Sail Calls and the senior participant at this year's event, born in 1942.
The social dimension of the Rendezvous also played an important role. A workshop hosted at the Yacht Club Italiano's Sea School welcomed children from the Porto dei Piccoli association, alongside the traditional charity raffle held on Saturday evening.
The event concluded with a spectacular parade at sea, as more than twenty Bertram yachts cruised in formation in complete safety along the coastline to Sori, creating a memorable spectacle. Nine Yacht Club Italiano members also took part, underlining the Club's strong involvement in an event that successfully combined a passion for the sea with tradition and charitable initiatives.
