Genoa Exhibition Centre - Area set aside for the CICO Centre

One location as the operational base for all the CICO competitors
The modern Pavilion B at the Genoa Exhibition Centre, designed by Jean Nouvel, will be used as a huge hangar for Finn, Laser and RSX class boats so they’ll be kept under cover throughout the Championships when not in use. The 470 and 2.4 class boats will be kept in the adjacent areas:  the 2.4s will be moored in the water at the quay in an area with disability access.  The Nacras and 49ers will berth close by in a part of the harbour specially set aside for them.  Another area near the pavilion will be used for all the competitors’ support dinghies.  Each class will have a number of slipways available for haulage and launching.  There’s also a convenient parking area of over 2000 m2 for boat forklifts, vans and cars belonging to participants. A first-aid station will be set up with an ambulance, defibrillators, a first-aid kit and other equipment.  Inside, the pavilion will function as a veritable Olympic village with refreshments, a relaxation area, washrooms, a stage for prize-giving and events, an area reserved for sponsors, a secretary’s office, offices for the race committees and a media centre.  The exhibition centre area will be turned into an international standard regatta centre the like of which can’t be found anywhere else in Italy.
