For whom
- For those who already know how to sail and want to increase their experience and confidence with the various maneuvers.
Where
- The course takes place in waters along the Ligurian Riviera, either the eastern (Levante) or western (Ponente) coast, depending on the weather forecast.
When
- During a long weekend from Friday to Monday. Sailing will take place throughout the day to reach an anchorage or a harbor where we will spend the night.
- Thursday evening: arrival of participants and boarding.
- Planning of the route and departure at dawn on Friday.
- Return to Genoa is scheduled for Monday afternoon.
Boat
- Grampus C&C 61’. The boat is equipped with cabins with single berths and cabins with bunk beds; each cabin has two berths.
Program
• Boat Handling: In-depth work on rigging, standing/running rigging, fine sail trim, and optimization of boat setup.
• Advanced Maneuvers: Review and improvement of tacking, gybing, heaving-to techniques (active/passive), and picking up a mooring buoy.
• Safety and Navigation: Man-overboard recovery procedures, management of safety equipment, voyage planning, and use of electronic instruments (GPS, charts).
• Weather: Advanced analysis of marine weather conditions (wind, waves, currents).
• Life on Board: Galley organization and watch system management during navigation.
• Prerequisites: Basic experience in handling a cruising sailboat and a non-competitive medical certificate.
• Objective: To acquire the ability to manage the boat safely and independently, even in challenging weather conditions.
The course will take place only if at least 6 participants enroll, with a maximum of 8.

Clothing / What to bring
- Bring everything needed to face the expected weather conditions, personal toiletries, a pillowcase, and a sleeping bag.
