SAILING SCHOOL

BEPPE CROCE SAILING SCHOOL

The Beppe Croce Sailing School is the facility through which the Yacht Club Italiano, recognized by CONI and FIV as an Official Sports Training Center, organizes sailing courses for children from the age of 6, as well as for teenagers and adults.

The main goal is to teach how to sail by promoting responsibility — towards oneself, others, the environment — and fun.

The Sailing School offers both beginner and advanced courses throughout the year, and proposes a full learning path following this ideal program:

  • it starts with helping children take their first tacks during summer courses:
    • Sailing College and Sailing Week courses, from Sunday/Monday to Friday, with or without overnight stay.
  • it continues with technical improvement through pre-competitive training from late September to late May:
    • Weekend Course (Optimist) and individual training (Laser – ILCA, 420).
  • it culminates with learning to race successfully in the Competitive Teams (420, Laser – ILCA, Optimist), which are active all year round.

Those who wish to go beyond dinghies can join the crew of “ELO II”, the Club’s 13-meter yacht, which participates in coastal and offshore races, or take one of the offshore sailing courses offered.

For older youths and adults, personalized lessons are available on single-, double- or crewed boats, including J/70 one-design keelboats.

During both summer and winter programs, the School also provides a meal service for students at lunchtime, and breakfast and dinner for those staying overnight.

The Beppe Croce Sailing School is equipped with:

  • a fleet of over 40 sailing boats
  • a team of qualified instructors and coaches
  • 16 support RIBs
  • 6 vans with trailers for transporting racing teams
  • and a 500-square-meter facility featuring a fully equipped gym, classrooms, a canteen, and on-site accommodation for students attending residential courses.

Armare Ropes

The prestigious collaboration between Armare Ropes and the Yacht Club Italiano is based on a partnership between two symbols of excellence, each with centuries-old traditions in their respective fields. With over 200 years of experience in rope manufacturing, Armare Ropes' technical ropes have been used on New Zealand’s foiling yachts since 2016. Thanks to these ropes, Emirates Team New Zealand secured victory in both the 35th and 36th America’s Cup, relying on the research and development that Armare Ropes carries out daily on its products. Armare Ropes, a symbol of quality in the nautical industry, is deeply rooted in family tradition and its local territory. The Finco family, rope makers for generations, began their activity by moving from Veneto to Trieste about 100 years ago, choosing to live and work in a region rich in maritime history. Over the years, Armare Ropes’ production process has evolved alongside the market’s rapid changes, while maintaining an almost artisanal dimension. This deliberate approach aims to achieve a level of technological excellence, cultivated over time through dedication, continuous investment, and the pursuit of a dream. As Stefano Finco, founder and CEO of Armare Ropes, explains: "Before being the continuation of a family tradition, Armare was a dream—one that I then turned into my personal life project, with the goal of making it a leading company. My vision of 'leadership' doesn’t necessarily mean market leadership, but leadership in company culture, which means establishing and maintaining honest and respectful relationships with clients and suppliers, but above all with our employees, who work every day to grow this project. The individual—whether client, supplier, or team member—is at the center of everything, connected and intertwined with the values I believe in and strive to pass on to my children every day."
