Sailing courses for children and teenagers

Sailing College - Summer

Our courses are also open to non-members of the Club.

These weeks follow the same program as the regular Sailing Weeks, with the addition of an overnight stay (5 nights, from Sunday evening to Friday afternoon) at the School’s guesthouse. All meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are included and served at the School.

Scheduled sessions: June 15 to July 4 and August 31 to September 12.

THE COURSE

This is a full-time course designed to introduce children to the world of sailing and spark their passion for the sport, all within a safe and welcoming environment. Students are supervised throughout their stay by highly qualified instructors and educators, each an expert in their field.

Overnight accommodations at the School guesthouse are arranged in shared rooms based on age, gender, and friendships. The learning program is adapted to weather and sea conditions as well as each student’s skill level.

Period

From Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon. From mid-June to mid-July and from late August to mid-September

Age

6 - 12

Location

Beppe Croce Sailing School - Yacht Club Italiano - Porticciolo Duca degli Abruzzi, Genoa - Waters in front of Corso Italia

Goal

The objective of the course is to introduce participants to the sport of sailing in a safe and welcoming environment, fostering a passion for the sea. The program is led by qualified instructors and adapted to the individual level of each student and to weather and sea conditions, with the aim of providing an engaging and educational experience. The course allows participants to enjoy outdoor activities and become familiar with the sea, gain water confidence, develop autonomy in boat handling, discover essential seamanship skills, learn to challenge their own limits, and strengthen teamwork abilities.

How it works

The day begins at 08:00 with wake-up and breakfast, followed at 09:00 by a warm-up session. At 09:30, theoretical lessons take place before heading out on the water at 10:00. After the morning sailing activity, lunch is served at 12:30, followed by group games. The afternoon resumes at 14:00 with a second sailing session, returning to shore at 16:30 for a snack. The program continues at 17:30 with games and entertainment, while dinner is at 19:30. The evening includes movies and recreational activities at 20:30, ending with lights out at 22:00.

Prerequisites

No prior sailing experience is required: the course is open both to beginners and to those with some initial experience. Participants must be able to swim and hold a valid medical certificate for non-competitive sports activities.

Target

The course is designed for children aged 6 to 12 who want to spend their summer outdoors, enjoy time on the water, and experience sailing in a fun and engaging environment. It is ideal for those who are curious about the sea and eager to learn while playing, discovering new skills, and sharing a group experience in close contact with nature.
