Sailing School
The Beppe Croce Sailing School is the structure through which the Yacht Club Italiano, as a CONI – FIV recognized Training Centre for Sport Initiation, organizes sailing courses for children from the age of 6, teenagers and adults. Its main objective is to teach sailing through responsibility towards oneself, others, the environment, and enjoyment.
The sailing School offers beginner and advanced courses throughout the year, following a comprehensive pathway structured as follows:
Those who wish to go beyond dinghies can join the crew of the Yacht Club Italiano’s club boat “ELO II” (13 metres), which takes part in coastal and offshore regattas, or attend one of the offshore sailing courses.
For older students and adults, personalised lessons are available on single-handed, double-handed and crewed boats, including J/70 one-designs. During both summer and winter courses, the School also provides a catering service for lunch and, in case of accommodation, breakfast and dinner.
The Beppe Croce Sailing School has a fleet of over 40 sailing boats, a team of qualified instructors and coaches, 16 support RIBs, 6 vans with trailers for racing team transfers, and a facility of over 500 square metres equipped with a gym, classrooms, a dining area, and accommodation for students attending residential courses.

The prestigious collaboration between Armare Ropes and the Yacht Club Italiano is based on a partnership between two symbols of excellence, each with centuries-old traditions in their respective fields. With over 200 years of experience in rope manufacturing, Armare Ropes' technical ropes have been used on New Zealand’s foiling yachts since 2016. Thanks to these ropes, Emirates Team New Zealand secured victory in both the 35th and 36th America’s Cup, relying on the research and development that Armare Ropes carries out daily on its products. Armare Ropes, a symbol of quality in the nautical industry, is deeply rooted in family tradition and its local territory. The Finco family, rope makers for generations, began their activity by moving from Veneto to Trieste about 100 years ago, choosing to live and work in a region rich in maritime history. Over the years, Armare Ropes’ production process has evolved alongside the market’s rapid changes, while maintaining an almost artisanal dimension. This deliberate approach aims to achieve a level of technological excellence, cultivated over time through dedication, continuous investment, and the pursuit of a dream. As Stefano Finco, founder and CEO of Armare Ropes, explains: "Before being the continuation of a family tradition, Armare was a dream—one that I then turned into my personal life project, with the goal of making it a leading company. My vision of 'leadership' doesn’t necessarily mean market leadership, but leadership in company culture, which means establishing and maintaining honest and respectful relationships with clients and suppliers, but above all with our employees, who work every day to grow this project. The individual—whether client, supplier, or team member—is at the center of everything, connected and intertwined with the values I believe in and strive to pass on to my children every day."
From the sails of the Amerigo Vespucci to the crews of the most advanced America’s Cup Class yachts, the story of Veleria San Giorgio is steeped in a heritage of knowledge passed down through generations with passion and collaboration. Founded in Genoa in 1926 by a master sailmaker, the company has skillfully nurtured the synergy between craftsmanship and technological innovation, building a path of shared growth alongside prestigious partners. VSG is the most renowned Italian company in the field of life jacket design and manufacturing, trusted internationally by cruise ships and recreational vessels alike. Veleria San Giorgio’s commitment is expressed through a constant pursuit of quality and safety, fueled by open, constructive dialogue with collaborators and partners. Its partnership with the Yacht Club Italiano and role as technical sponsor of the “Beppe Croce” Sea School reflect how the company’s success is rooted in strong, long-lasting relationships aimed at sharing the most advanced safety technologies with members and young sailing enthusiasts—strengthening the bond between maritime tradition, Made in Italy excellence, and innovation. Over the years, Veleria San Giorgio has played a significant role in Italian nautical history, contributing to its evolution through collaborations with America’s Cup teams and the Italian Sailing Federation (FIV). These partnerships not only cement the company’s position in the competitive sailing world, but also highlight the value of teamwork and the exchange of expertise among all those involved—ensuring safety and reliability at the highest levels of competition. Hundreds of cruise ships and thousands of pleasure boats navigating the world’s seas rely on Veleria San Giorgio products—born from teamwork between artisans, engineers, and athletes, all united by a common goal of excellence and safety. This spirit of collaboration lies at the heart of our ability to innovate and maintain the highest quality standards, as we continue to shape the future of Italian yachting together with our partners, clients, and passionate supporters.
