First of all, in view of the fact that ladies match racing will be introduced as a special Olympic discipline at London 2012, the number of courses reserved for female sailors has been increased. Other initiatives include the BMW Match Race Cups and BMW Match Race Camps, designed to ensure continuity between the courses throughout the year, and to give enthusiasts the chance to compete against one another and gain competitive experience.""The BMW Match Race Cups, scheduled for the coming spring and autumn – explained Mr Pelaschier – are grade 4 regattas included on the ISAF international calendar, which are open to all crews, whether they are enrolled at the BMW Match Race Academy or not.
