The advanced training school established by BMW Group Italia and the Yacht Club Italiano presents the innovations for the new season: more courses for young sailors, a dedicated cycle of regattas and the BMW Match Race Camp training sessionsMauro Pelaschier, Advisor to BMW Match Race Academy, presents some of the innovations to be introduced during the coming season by the advanced training school, established by BMW Italia in collaboration with Yacht Club Italiano."The program prepared by the tutor Roberto Ferrarese with the collaboration of the staff of the BMW Match Race Academy and the Federazione Italiana Vela (F.I.V.) – announced Mr. Pelaschier – introduces some important innovations ahead of the new season. First of all, in view of the fact that ladies match racing will be introduced as a special Olympic discipline at London 2012, the number of courses reserved for female sailors has been increased. Other initiatives include the BMW Match Race Cups and BMW Match Race Camps, designed to ensure continuity between the courses throughout the year, and to give enthusiasts the chance to compete against one another and gain competitive experience.""The BMW Match Race Cups, scheduled for the coming spring and autumn – explained Mr Pelaschier – are grade 4 regattas included on the ISAF international calendar, which are open to all crews, whether they are enrolled at the BMW Match Race Academy or not. The BMW Match Race Camps offer those who wish to participate the chance to gain match race practice at the Beppe Croce Sea School at the Yacht Club Italiano in Genoa." |
